"To create and essentially to use my hands to express myself is a great passion. The choice of materials and techniques has varied over the years. Re-makes of used / inherited clothing, creating sculptures of what is in the environment, building furniture’s, making jewelry and sewing a 25m2 backdrop for a play isamong other things I have created.
Since childhood I have from beginning curiously observing to later embrace my crocheting female relatives techniques and patters from Turkey. My mother had a prominent role in my interest for handicraft. She taught me the art of crocheting, the oddness of cross-stitching and the non-measuring of food cocking.
Since 2001 I've met several people, among others Alice Barnsdale, Johanna Hofring, who inspired me with their thoughts and views on ecology and environmental sustainability. Later when I started to knit again it seemed natural to use material which was good for me and for the environment. I decided then and there that I would use organic, sustainable and natural materials to produce beautiful unique handmade creations.
The individual and the environment are my inspiration. Everything and everyone can suddenly give a spark to my creativity. I see the beauty of man, how unique she is. It is this uniqium, I want to show in my creations.
All creations are unique and created with great care by hand. The majority of the creations are created by free-hand i.e without patterns.
Organic and environmentally friendly materials will be used as far as possible. In some collections recycled materials will be used. Some compromise will be made with existing features such as zippers, buttons, clasps, threads."
